PANEL IDEA

This year’s Ship Management panel will provide a broader outlook on two burning issues of the Ship Management industry in Poland. The ship management market has recently undergone major changes related to two factors – consolidation at an unprecedented scale and the use of the so-called “big data”.

Discussing consolidation, we will present the two sides of this process. On the one hand, we have constantly growing already huge organizations, and on the other hand, we have joint enterprises ran by smaller players on the market. We will ask our panel experts about the reasons for implementing consolidation measures in their companies. We will look for references to the domestic market and we will try to answer a question concerning the opportunities and threats to the Polish industry, ones that are derived from this process.

Digitized management and its integral processes provide nearly unlimited possibilities for collecting data. So-called “big data” collections are created, which, analyzed, can be used to identify previously undetectable interrelations. These types of projects are frequently used to manage ships. We will ask our panel experts to share their experiences in this area and we will analyze whether Poland can have its contribution in enterprises of this type.
